Introduction

Animal Quarantine Office, Nepalgunj, Banke is one of the eight quarantine offices under the Department of Animal Services among the various departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. This office is located near Ramlila Maidan, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-13 under Banke District of Lumbini Province. According to the political division after the implementation of federalism in the country, Banke, Bardia and Dang districts under Lumwini province are the jurisdiction of this office, although Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city is the biggest commercial center in Karnali province and Far West province. Since Ratna Highway is the only way to enter Karnali province, starting from Nepalganj sub-metropolitan city of this district and passing through Kohalpur municipality under the district, various types of services flowing from this office have a direct impact on Karnali province as well.


Purpose


- Preventing the entry of the latest and other infectious diseases that may enter from foreign countries.
- Managing the import and export of animals, animal products and animal products.
- If any infectious disease spreads within the country, prevent and control it in coordination with the relevant Animal Services Office and other relevant agencies.
- To increase public awareness about infectious diseases that can be imported from foreign countries.
- Providing necessary support to the Animal Services Office and Animal Disease Research Laboratories in disease diagnosis and control.
- Keep the statistics of animals, animal products and animal product materials and diseases up to date and send them to the    Veterinary Epidemiology Center.
- Animal Health and Animal Services Act, 2055 and A. Effectively implement the provisions related to quarantine contained in the Regulations, 2056.
